New digital profile for Yorkshire restaurant

Dec 14, 2011   //   by Rachel   //   Consultancy, Digital marketing, Social media, Strategic marketing  //  No Comments

We’ve been working with The Nag’s Head in Pickhill, near Thirsk on a new digital profile. The website is now live, email marketing is set-up, and social media profiles are in place.

The Nag’s Head is described by its owners as a ‘residential country inn and restaurant’ and holds holds 2 AA rosettes, a Trip Advisor ‘Certificate of Excellence’, and is listed in the independent ‘Good Hotel Guide’.

When we first met with this client, their main problem was that the business was suffering as the result of the nearby long-term A1 roadworks and lack of natural through-flow of traffic or passing footfall.

New client films: Think Amelie meets Fast Show

Oct 7, 2011   //   by Rachel   //   Digital marketing, Social media  //  No Comments

We’ve been working closely with Katie & Gary at Video Web Productions to create some gorgeous new short films for a training company client. We wanted these films to be different, and indeed they are! In complete contrast to your average corporate video style they are stylish and visually striking. In actual fact the original brief described something that was ‘Amelie meets The Fast Show’!  Have a look and see if you can see any similarities…

Marketing Examples: Why Graze is ‘grate’

Sep 9, 2011   //   by Rachel   //   Digital marketing, Social media  //  2 Comments

I first heard about Graze – tasty, natural snacks delivered through the post across the UK – a year or so ago. Then recently, a colleague arrived for a meeting clutching a Graze box and declaring it a ‘freebie first box’. The contents were delicious – different to anything I would normally buy – and delicious.

I decided to give it a go. I set-up an online account and signed-up for my first free box. Bargain. No obligation to buy, cancel at anytime yada yada. Except, I could get a second box half-price too…. So I might just do that, I thought. Not only that but through my account online I could view all the potential nibbles, and I could rate them so that I’d never get the stuff I hate (Anything coconut. Urgh), and I could request the ones I love first (Sweet Goan Curry Crackers. Nom). Genius.

New client WordPress website launched

Aug 18, 2011   //   by Rachel   //   Digital marketing, Social media  //  No Comments

We’ve been working with Rob at www.creativeaspects.co.uk over the last few months to create a website for Knaresborough-based training company, Principle Practice. Today, the site finally went live.

The brief was created by Rachel Auty @ the fourfront, and revolved around usability, social connectivity, and user interaction. The site also needed to be an extension of the organisations well-developed existing visual brand, to accommodate a portfolio of short videos, and to be optimised for search engines + support an on going optimisation initiative.

Phew! We didn’t want much did we?

Social media marketing & why it matters to you

The Future’s Social: Why all business should take social media seriously

On Monday 18th July 2011, I presented at the Harrogate Chamber of Commerce meeting. And it went a little bit like this…..

Why social media matters to businesses | Harrogate Chamber Presentation

The rise of the web has changed marketing forever. Think about this. What do YOU do when you are looking for a new product or service?

Most people today will admit that they will turn to their own networks (either online, offline, or both) and/ or they will ask Google.

The fact is that by doing one or both of these things, you will be armed with enough information to make an informed purchase decision.

In view of this it probably won’t come as a surprise to hear that every traditional marketing channel is in decline, both in use and effectiveness.

Finding the right social media partner

Jun 1, 2011   //   by Rachel   //   Consultancy, Digital marketing, Social media  //  No Comments

So, you’re considering seeking consultancy services to help you/ your organisation to understand and deploy social media effectively?

Today, there are social media providers – or ‘experts’ – everywhere. How do you find the right person?

It’s worth noting that actually, under the ‘social media consultant’ title there are a range of different skills and ‘angles’ that are worth considering.

I’ve come across social media services offered by PR professionals, IT experts, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) providers, and marketing consultants. Each one of these types of provider will have a different approach to social media which will be determined by their own specialist area. There are also ‘social media management’ services, which are different again (as if your head wasn’t spinning enough already!).
